POLICE CP, EDGAL SPEAKS ON TRENDING STORY OF ‘‘WOMAN WHO JUMPED INTO LAGOON’’

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi has finally spoken on reports making rounds recently of a woman who allegedly parked her Ford SUV and jumped off the 3rd mainland bridge into the Lagos Lagoon.

Addressing news men at the Police Headquarters, Ikeja during a briefing held today June 21, 2018, CP Edgal noted that no concrete evidence had been established in the case.

The Commissioner said ‘‘It was just hear-say that it was a woman. One or two of the supposed witnesses said it was a man. Another said it was an Uber that brought her, how that person knew it was an Uber ride still beats my imagination because the vehicle did not stop.’’

‘‘One thing is certain and that is the report from my Marine Unit; all our divers were deployed to the scene. If someone goes into the Lagoon, within 2 days that body will be washed out, it might be mutilated but the body will float. Up till now, as I speak to you, we don’t have a body and I will not confirm any deaths until I see a body, dead or alive.’’

‘‘The search is still on, nobody has officially come forward to agree that it is either their daughter, mum, wife or friend that jumped in with evidence. I don’t want anyone to presume, as soon as I have credible information concerning that matter I will give it to the press.’’ He concluded.
