DR STELLA ADADEVOH HONORED POSTHUMOUSLY BY BUHARI'S LED ECOWAS

Dr Stella Adadevoh has been honored with an Award for Excellence by the Economic Committee of West African States (ECOWAS) for her bravery in helping curb the Ebola virus.

Making the announcement, Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari said;

"Today, in my capacity as ECOWAS Chairman, I presented a posthumous ECOWAS Award of Excellence to Mr. Bankole Cardoso, on behalf of his mother, the late Dr. Stella Adadevoh.

Dr. Adadevoh’s sacrifice and heroism, for Nigeria, in the fight against Ebola, will never be forgotten."

Dr Adadevoh helped curb a wider spread of the Ebola virus by placing then patient, Patrick Sawyer in Quarantine despite pressure from the Liberian Government who wanted Sawyer to attend a conference.

That brave act eventually led to her being tested on the 4th of August 2014 with the Ebola Virus, with Dr Adadevoh passing on on the 19th of the same month.

She has continually been hailed as one of Nigeria's heroine.
