BETWEEN FALZ AND THE HIJAB WEARING DANCERS IN #THISISNIGERIA - FALZ EXPLAINS

Addressing the issue of ‘having hijab wearing girls dancing Shaku Shaku’ in his music video #ThisIsNigeria which was an adaptation of Chidish Gambino’s #ThisIsAmerica, music star Falz Tha Bahd Guy was quoted as saying ‘that scene is pretty straightforward and one of the easiest thing for people to grasp in the video’.

Still speaking on Wazobia Max’s Hello Nigeria, the lawyer cum rapper said “The girls are obviously and blatantly symbolic of the Chibok girls, and government’s extremely sluggish attitude and response to their kidnap.

“Entertainment and dancing continuously distract us from everything that has happened, and that was why the girls were dancing…”

That explanation seemed not to have held much water as the Muslim Rights Commission (MURIC) have threatened to take legal actions against him over the music video.

  1. What utter rubbish is that ,taking legal action against him. Have they not seen the video of sweet sweet codein making the rounds? Why do we always want to bury our heads in the sand and pretend that we are immune to the menaces of our society. Let us even assume he didn't mean to represent the kidnapped chibok girls,so what, biko.
So much is happening in Nigeria to the Nigerian youth...it's razing across the country like wild fire. Christian or Muslim. WE ARE ALL AFFECTED. FALZ IS AN INTELLIGENT ARTIST AND SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS HIS TRUTH OF THIS SITUATION AS HE DEEMS FIT.
