The Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja today June 21, 2018 held a media Press briefing.
The Briefing which was done by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgar provided a platform for the force to state important achievements, as well as to inform the public of recent developments.

ARRESTS OF TWO SUSPECTED KINDNAPPERS
On the 4th June, 2018 the Command
received a complaint from Mary Chidi ‘f’ of Dog Kennel, Railway Compound,
Ebute-Meta, Lagos that she suspected that one Meshack Felix who worked as
waiter in her restaurant abducted her three year old son named Chisom Chidi and
took him to an unknown destination. She also stated that two days after the
disappearance of his son, the said Meshack texted her a diamond bank account
number 0081873532 belonging to one Chinecherem Felix demanding a ransom fee of
six hundred thousand naira (N600,000) else the victim would be killed.
Based on the complaint, I directed the
officer in charge of Anti-Kidnapping Squad to investigate and ensure that the
victim is rescued and suspects arrested. The squad went into action immediately
and covertly located the suspects at Lokpanta Autonomous Community of
Umu-Nneochi LGA, Abia State, where the two suspects namely Meshack Felix(who
abducted the boy) and Chinecherem Felix(who provided the account number for the
ransom) were arrested and the hostage rescued from captivity on the 15th of
June, 2018.
Suspects will be charged to court as
soon as investigation is concluded.
CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY
On 01/06/2018 at about 0200hrs, one
Damon Ikpeme was attacked and shot at his residence at No. 58, Ajaguno Street,
Jehovah Witness Road, Etiosa Lagos, where he was dispossessed off his i-phone
7, I-pad, Laptops and other valuables worth millions of Naira.
However, luck ran out on the suspects
while fleeing the scene of crime as they were arrested by policemen patrolling
the neighbourhood. Recovered from them was a cut to size locally made pistol.
During interrogation, the suspects
confessed to the crime and hinted that they normally operate on Eti-osa
expressway and environs.
Suspects will be charged to court as
soon as investigation is concluded.
CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY
On 19/06/2018 at about 2250hrs,
Information was received that some suspected armed robbers were lodging at Oral
Garden Suites Hotel, Mosafejo, Ojo, Alaba.
Based on this information, I directed
the Officer In-Charge SARS to effect their arrests. Detectives swung into
action and the following suspects were arrested:
James Maxwel Sylvanus ‘m’ age 28; and
Oscar Agbeiboh ‘m’ age 25.
Recovered from the suspects are:
One Locally Made Double Barrel Pistol;
and
Two live Cartridges.
Suspects will be charged to court as
soon as investigation is concluded.
CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY
On 16/06/2018 information was received
from a credible source indicating that some group of dare-devil armed robbers,
based and operates in Ogun State, who specializes in snatching cars in Ogun
State and thereafter bring their loots to Lagos State for sale.
Armed with this intelligence, ambush
was laid for them by FSARS operatives and conventional policemen from the
Command leading to the arrest of the following suspects:
Emmanuel Ogaba a.k.a Tablet ‘m’ age 45;
Matthew Ogaba ‘m’ age 30;
Fidelis Nelson a.k.a MP ‘m’ age 41;
Augustine Stanley ‘m’ age 31;
Abayomi Adebisi ‘m’ age 42;
Sunday Solomon ‘m’ age 41; and
Emmanuel Olusegun ‘m’ age 37.
Recovered from them are the following
items:
One Toyota Camry car without
Registration Number;
One Toy Gun;
Various SIM cards.
Suspects will be charged to court as
soon as investigation is concluded.
CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY
On 13/06/2018 information was received
from a reliable source that an armed robbery gang that specializes in stealing
motorcycles in Lagos State and takes same to Ibadan for sale are hibernating in
Lagos State.
Based on the information, FSARS
operatives in conjunction with operatives of the Command went into action
during which the following suspects were arrested:
Sunday Olajide ‘m’;
Lekan Azeez ‘m’
The following exhibits were recovered
from them:
Three (3) cut to size pistols;
Six (6) live cartridges; and
One (1) expended cartridge.
Suspects will be charged to court as
soon as investigation is concluded.
ARREST OF TRAFFIC ROBBERS
Based on intelligence gathered by Decoy
operatives from the Command’s RRS that there exists an armed robbery gang who
specializes in robbing innocent citizens during traffic gridlocks in Lagos.
In the light of the intelligence
gathered, a decoy team of RRS Operatives swung into action and arrested the
following suspects
Tunde Raphael ‘m’ 24 yrs
Samuel Kolawole ‘m’ 23yrs
John Solomon Omini ‘m’ 32yrs
Upon interrogation, the suspects
confessed to the crime, and added that they have been in the business of
robbing people during traffic congestion in the morning and late in the
evening, stealing phones, bags, money and other valuable items from their
victims
Exhibits recovered from them include
Twelve (12) sim cards from different
service providers;
Three (3) phones.

various locations in the State are as follows:

Anibolu Felix ‘m’ age 21;

Monday Joseph ‘m’ age 19;

Friday Isah ‘m’ age 19
AT IGANDO
Kehinde Arisa ‘m’ age 22;
Adesola Basit ‘m’ 22;
Recovered from them are:
One (1) cut to size Pistol;
Two(2) expended cartridges.
CASE OF CONSPIRACY, DIVERSION AND
STEALING
Sometime in February, 2018 one Domnic
Nege ‘m’ approached Rabel Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary and distributor to
International Breweries, the manufacturer of Trophy Lager, for employment as a
driver. He was profiled by the company. However, during the profiling, he
furnished the company with false information including fake address. The same
goes with his guarantor.
Having secured the employment, the
company on 14/03/2018 sent him to Mammy Market, Boney Camp, Victoria Island,
Lagos. After loading 143 crates of Trophy bottles with liquid contents, valued
at ten million, three hundred thousand Naira only (10,300,000:00), the suspect
diverted the goods to unknown destination and switched off his phone.
Investigation into the case commenced
immediately. The intelligence component of the Command was mobilized to assist
operatives of FSARS with necessary information that will lead to the arrest of
the suspect.
Efforts to arrest the suspect paid off
on 11/06/2018 when the suspect was traced to Makurdi, Benue State. During
interrogation, the suspect led detectives to Sangotedo area of Ibeju Lekki
where the Mitsubushi Canter Truck with Reg. No. JJJ-873-XJ was abandoned after
he had disposed off the goods.
