BILL COSBY MOVED TO A MAXIMUM-SECURITY PRISON

Bill Cosby was yesterday, September 25, 2018 officially sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison after being convicted of three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault earlier this year.

According to TMZ, after spending a few hours at the county jail, Cosby was transferred to a maximum-security facility. He is serving his time at the Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution Phoenix, in Schwenksville, PA.

The judge ruled Cosby a “sexually violent predator,” which was the reason behind the choice of prison. The 81-year-old is among some of the most violent offenders in the state, and the new facility houses 3,803 beds.

According to the New York Times, Cosby’s teams alleged racism and sexism following his sentencing.

Cosby’s publicist, Andrew Wyatt said to the press, “They persecuted Jesus, and look what happened. Not saying Mr. Cosby is Jesus, but we know what this country has done to black men for centuries.”

Several people have taken to social media to condemn the heavy sentencing handed to an 81year old legally blind man, siting racism and colour disparity, with several wondering why he wasn't giving a house arrest instead of being sent to a Maximum security facility.
