3 MONTHS AFTER, BROTHER OF SLAIN NYSC CORP MEMBER CONTINUES HIS CRY FOR JUSTICE

Akpobome Onokpoma (Honest Akpos) brother of slain NYSC Corp member, George Onokpoma, who was murdered alongside his roommate Popoola Oluwatobi Olamide on March 20, 2019 at around 10:30pm in Bayelsa state while undergoing the mandatory one year NYSC scheme has spoken out 3 months after the incident.

Akpobome who is an On Air Personality for a top radio station in Port Harcourt took to his Twitter account @HonestAkpos to shed more light on what has transpired since that day.

He wrote: 

"It’s 3months today since my Lil brother was murdered with his roommate in swali yenegoa. The @nysc_ng contributed nothing to his burial. The @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU is yet to find his killers even wen Dey hv ova 5 suspects in their custody.The govt Bayelsa has kept mute.

Please I need u to RT so the police will do their job . Since this happened, @nysc_ng @officialnyscng has change its DG , @PoliceNG transferred the commissioner and now @nysc_ng has transferred the Nysc state Cordinator who posted my brother to a criminal then to be murdered

They murdered my brother ( George) and took his infinix phone . As I write this , the phone is with the police in yenegoa yet they can’t produce his killers . They hv a suspect who claimed he bought the phone, two other suspects who said they only help fixed the phone. #George RT

They also hv a suspect named Ekene who the other suspects claimed brought the phone for repair but he is denying he doesn’t know the other suspects (obviously a lie) but the police is still saying are still investigating for 3months now . Please retweet. I want justice 4 #George

Another suspect I hv been reliable told by former vigilante head who led the attack and murder of my brother is with sars yenegoa yet the police are avoiding linking him up with the murder. I hear a politician is trying to bail him please help me RT #George

Yesterday I called the ACP in charge of the case , the head of homicde and the newly deployed @nysc_ng state Cordinator. They neither picked nor returned my calls . I intend to submit a formal petition but I need the world to know . Please help me RT. @ProfOsinbajo @MBuhari

My brother George was a decent, humble young devoted Christian. He was marking his students script in his room when he was murdered with his roommate on the 20th of March . The @nysc_ng does not care , they don’t even push @PoliceNG to do their job 2 save future Corp members

Since this happened I hv been the one calling @nysc_ng @officialnyscng @PoliceNG yenegoa and no acknowledgement of my brothers death from the govt of Bayelsa. They just invite graduates to serve without security 💔. I am broken. I pay my tax but my @AsoRock don’t care #George

George was said to have been marking scripts of his students at the balcony of the house in which he lived when he was accosted by armed men who ordered him to the apartment where other corp members where in, it is alleged that he was then asked to knock on the door.

After knocking, other Corp members asked that he provide his name before they would open the door, a request he didn't grant. This was said to have angered the armed bandits as they thought he was playing games with them, who then allegedly shot him twice in the head before breaking into the apartment and shooting the two other occupants. 

Popoola, another Corp member was killed while the third person known as Dada narrowly survived after being shot in the abdomen. 

It is reported that they tried to shoot Dada on the head also but realized they were out of bullets and then made their escape.
