The Honorable Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State, Dr Hafsat Baba has taken to social media to reveal the identity of an alleged rapist.
The accused by the name of Samuel Ejikeme is a proprietor of a nursery school in the state and was arrested after it emerged that he had had canal knowledge of a student of the school, a 9 year old female student.
Making the announcement, Dr Baba wrote: "Parents with wards at Liberation College, behind Govt Model Sch, Trikania are advised to withdraw them from the school. Pic is Mr. Samuel Ejikeme, proprietor of the school, allegedly raped a 9-year old girl. He confessed on tape. We're yet to establish if there are other victims."
"It is really troubling to hear that administrators and teachers who are supposed to be pillars of support and protection to our wards are turning predatory. Please parents should speak more to their daughters and sons to ease exposure of these beasts in human skin."
The unidentified pupil is said to have been taken to the hospital and is responding positively to treatment.
Reactions have continued to emerge with certain people calling for stiffer punishments to deter future perpetrators. A few have suggested castration for men, while others have said a longer jail term to keep them away from the society is the best technique.
The Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El Rufai has also directed that the School license be withdrawn and the building closed down immediately.
The Governor tweeted: "THANKS COMMISSIONER: The Kaduna Quality Assurance Authority should immediately withdraw the school’s license & close it down. KASUPDA should look into its development permit and take further action within two weeks. Mr. Ejikeme must be detained & vigorously prosecuted. - @elrufai"
